Democratic Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg while delivering a speech in South Carolina, said America’s past “was never as great as advertised.”
I cannot help but feel that he insulted all the men who fought on the beaches of Normandy or died in the South Pacific fighting for HIS Right to live in the country that he now clearly feels so thoroughly ashamed of. Well, Mr Buttigieg, I think that you should be ashamed.
He goes further and says “ It is time to walk away from the politics of the past and toward something totally different.”
All Left Wing Governments around the Western World are wanting to do exactly what Buttigieg is promoting: Walk away from the Politics of the Past and move towards something totally different.
Well, guess what?
There are a lot of people who prefer President Trump’s message of hope, prosperity, normality and decency of the past - to the future that is being rammed down our throats by idiots from the Left who think that these things are no longer acceptable.
No one thinks that the past of any Nation is without blemish.
But to make a blanket statement that America’s past was never as great as advertised is insulting to those men and women who shaped America.
They shed their blood, sweat and tears to build the foundations of the Nation that gave him the freedom to kick it in the guts. That is gratitude for you.
And he wants to be President? Seriously?
Last time I looked, America was a Democracy. My understanding is that Democracy is Government By the People For the People. Of the People.
Not Government by some of the People, for some of the People and of some of the People.
Are white heterosexual males no longer part of a Democracy? Is Democracy only for the Minorities of the population? If so, which ones? Who chooses?
Are white heterosexual females who love being a wife and mother no longer relevant? Are young men and women who are prepared to fight and die for their country so disregarded – both in the past but also today and also in the future?
When people like Mr Buttigieg stand for the highest office in the land, I am deeply concerned about that essential problem. He is openly gay, openly ashamed of his country and openly acknowledging that he wishes to change the trajectory that Trump has created.
The Democrats seem to have an issue with the America under President Trump. A thriving economy and low unemployment seem not to be part of the Democrat vision of the future.
My grave concern is that their future is one that I will not like.
As Mr Leonard Cohen said many years ago
“I've seen the future, brother
It is murder
Things are going to slide, slide in all directions
Won't be nothing
Nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
Has crossed the threshold
And it has overturned
The order of the soul “
I am reminded of a saying that is still one of my favourites.
